How it all started

I have finally started a post. I figure I should start by telling you how I became Brody3dfan. The first thing you have to know is that I am a youth minister. As a youth minister, I get to do some fun activities from time to time with teenagers and pre-teens. It was at one of these occasions that I became Brody. (In case your were wondering, my real name is Dave.) On to the story.

I had taken some students bowling. This was when bowling alleys first started using automatic scoring. One of our students was putting the names in the computer for everyone. As you may recall, when you go bowling, the score screen will only show the first 4 letters of your name when you are not bowling to save space. My youth had always just called me Bro. Dave. This is what was put in for my name. When it came up on the screen, all you could see was BroD. That is when my youth group started calling me Brody. Now for the rest of the story.

I began using Brody as my screen name on many websites. I am Brody on thirdday.com if you like that group. Then again, why wouldn't you like that group. Anyway, I eventually could not use Brody as a screen name on many sites. I guess guys with Brody as there actual name began using it. To understand where 3dfan came from, you have to understand that I am a huge fan of Third Day. When Third Day started as a band, I had begun praying that God would give me a Christian band that I would love, and that sounded similar to Hootie and the Blowfish. Nothing against Hootie, they have a couple of good songs, I love their sound, I just wanted lyrics that were Godly. That's when I heard Third Day - and they have been my favorite band ever since. They are sometimes referred to as 3d. Thus, I am a 3dfan.

There you have it. Brody3dfan is born.

In Service of the King,
Brody3dfan
